Leading independent producer and distributor of programming in the worldwide television marketplace is seeking an experienced controller who will excel in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, MBA a plus, CPA is required
Minimum 7-10 years of prior Accounting experience with 2-3 years in a leadership position
Minimum 5 years of entertainment Industry experience
Experience supervising an audit
Public accounting experience in a Big 4 ideal
Solid understanding of film production and distribution accounting in line with ASC 926
Experience consolidating multiple entities
Understanding and experience in dealing with foreign currencies and accounting
Skilled MS Office, with advanced Excel skills
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Maintain all systems of accounts, books and records
Ensure completion and reconciliation of internal financials
Ensure compliance with US GAAP standards and all applicable taxes and regulations
Review computation and payment of payroll, commissions and expenses
Full coordination of audit and preparation and tax reporting
Supervise accounting staff and employee benefits plans

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
