Intern - Care 1st Mandates, Law
Our 10-week Summer Internship Program is an ideal way for both undergrad and graduate students to gain real-life work experience while learning what a career at Blue Shield of California can offer. Interns work on real-world projects and initiatives while being immersed in all aspects of our business. From interacting with senior leadership to visiting a neighborhood health clinic, interns will build a better understanding of the diversity and complexities of working in the dynamic world of health insurance.
Below is some information on the project this intern will be working on:
The intern will report to the Mandates Control Group Senior Program Manager and will work with the Care1st Mandates Control Group team. The intern's responsibilities may include the following:
Assist MCG team with mandate impact assessments and Work Orders. This may include reaching out to the business areas and taking notes in meetings.
Assist MCG team with providing feedback for mandate questions from the business units
Communicate with internal Legal departments for support on mandate inquiries
Help track and log mandate status
Create meeting agendas, attend meetings, and take minutes
Create presentations
Provide administrative support including composing correspondence, preparing reports, and maintain/update network folders
Processes relevant forms and documents
Candidate Profile and Requirements:
Pursuing a Master's degree from an accredited college/university in Political Science, Healthcare Administration, Public Policy, Public Administration or Law
Minimum 3.00 cumulative GPA
Advanced Excel, Power Point, written communication required
Knowledge of healthcare policy, regulations and health management required
Sharepoint experience a plus
